Andrew and Amanda met in 2004, back in the days before Facebook accounts and long before people swiped right for love.
They both excelled in school. Excelled or expelled? Either way, thanks to their stellar performances and unique achievements, they found themselves in a special school. Without this twist of fate, a girl from Barrhaven and a boy from Bells Corners might never have crossed paths.
In June 2004, at the end of Grade 11, Amanda boldly walked up to Andrew on the last day of school and handed him her phone number, suggesting they hang out over the summer. In typical Andrew fashion, he promptly lost the piece of paper! He spent the next two and a half months thinking about Amanda and hoping she'd still be there the following school year.
When September 2004 rolled around, the new school year began, and on the first day of Grade 12, Andrew wasted no time when he saw Amanda again. He convinced her to go on a date with him, taking her to the Carp Fair. They were both so nervous they barely spoke the entire drive there. Andrew turned up the music and tried to play it cool. At the fair, he won her a little stuffed frog. A few weeks later, in October, they officially started dating, with Andrew bringing Amanda roses. (Amanda still has the stuffed frog and the original roses to this day.)
To any of their friends who were around back then, they can attest that Andrew and Amanda were inseparable.
In 2009, they bought their first house together and welcomed their first baby girl into the world, Ava Lynn. They transitioned from a couple in love to a family.
In 2012, they welcomed their second baby girl, Ashtyn Mary. The next year, while Amanda was washing the dishes, Andrew walked into the kitchen holding baby Ashtyn in one hand, got down on one knee, and asked Amanda to marry him.
With their bond and love for each other, and the love and support of their families and friends, Andrew and Amanda have built a beautiful family. Their love continues to grow stronger each year.
They are thrilled to have you join them on their wedding day, celebrating their 20-year journey together!
